New Story

A letter to our New Story staff in Wyoming from a parent: "Hi Donna and Shannon: Thank you both for the wonderful and maigical experience we all had at the Spring Dance/Prom last Friday! The 50s sock-hop decorations costumed teachers and staff, 1950s OLDS 88 and the great food, music and happy families were all outstanding! How levely to treat our kids and ourselves to a fun night out in a safe environment with the helpers everywhere to assist with our special kids! We rarely get teh opportunity, and how nice to see other happy families enjoy the same. Of course, Elvis being 'in the building' was a huge highlight! Again, your team of dedicated staff members makes a memorable event for all of us! Thank you for your hard work, creativity, and caring for each of us...feels like 'family!' After coming to New Story we've found that he's excited to try new things so for our family it's been awesome, it's been a blessing!

AWESOME SCHOOL! I would recommend for any behavior child over a partial program.

Awesome staff, I feel as though they are working with me instead of against me for what is best for my child. I could not ask for anything more. I have recommended your school to other parents. Amy Rugh is such a wonderful and knowledgeable teacher. Elizabeth Wistuk has always helped me with anything I need, and has always been so courteous – even when Alex first started at your school and I called so many times during the day to make sure he was ok. Glenn, the classroom’s aide, is wonderful too. The boys love him. I know my son feels so at home at New Story and he now loves going to school. I cannot thank you enough for providing my son with this education and experience.

Everyone that handles him has a love for him in a way that I thought only I did as his mom.

I can’t say thank you enough for providing Emilie with such a stimulating summer program. I appreciate the individual attention she has received. We have all noticed the improvement in Emilie‘s behavior at home…I am excited to watch her progress when she returns.

I think it’s wonderful what you do for these children…You do not know what that does even for the parents of all the children.

I think New Story School is terrific. They are the first school that ever gave me hope concerning my child’s future.

They are great up there in Dubois, keep up the good work! I’m very happy with New Story (Dubois). My daughter was going to quit school back in late November early December, but thanks to her teacher, Mrs. Kristy, she helped my daughter deal with things and stay in school, and special thanks to her, my daughter will be going off to cosmetology school this June (29th) 24 days after graduation. Thank you to the special and caring staff in Dubois, the talent show that the students did was wonderful to watch.

They care about these kids it's quite obvious that they really want them to succeed

They give new meaning to the words service, kindness and compassion...thanks to all involved in nurturing this level of giving--have a nice weekend, and, again, please reinforce the specialness of each individual's daily efforts at New Story --transport-loading may not seem to be a very specialized task, but your staff certainly brought glory to the job description!! Bless all of you!

They seem to have the same game plan us parents have, and that is to actually get in there and use those different tools that we have to get as much out of our kids... We actually feel like family

This is the first time sending my child to school that I feel that he is in the right school. He’s going to be taken care of and I know he’s safe and won’t be harmed. Thank You.

As always, I enjoyed our meeting today! It is a pleasure to meet with you and your remarkable staff. They are always positive and are definitely making a difference in the lives of so many young people; especially our student in common. I am thrilled to hear of his gains! Thanks for sharing the reason for the name change of your agency. How moving and appropriate! As the company expands, please ask the appropriate persons to keep the Elk County area in mind. I know of students in other districts that would benefit from your services. It would be wonderful to have a program more centrally located.

Donna McCune, Shannon McLaughlin and staff are exceptional in all aspects. It is an honor to work with them. They take care of my children as I would.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Todd Gorshe at your York Center. He is very responsive (to) our students needs.

It has been a pleasure collaborating with both of the New Story facilities. The administration and staff have continually been professional, informative, and effective in all undertakings. Best of all, I have experienced great success for our students both academically and behaviorally.

Lacey has been exceptional. She is very good at communicating and is always available to answer questions. I have really enjoyed working with her.

If it wasn’t for you all I wouldn’t be going to college this summer. I never had a school that helped push me to where I needed to be like you all have done with me... I thank God everyday that I was sent to New Story. Everything you all have done for me I’m happy to say that everyone in this school is like a second family to me.
