    Paul Volosov, Ph.D., founded New Story Schools in 1997 to help children with serious and complex challenges live high-quality lives. Paul received his master’s degree in human development from the University of Maryland in 1972 and his Ph.D. in school psychology from Temple University in 1976.

    After being certified as a school psychologist and as a licensed psychologist, Paul founded several companies that support individuals with serious and complex challenges so that all can live satisfying and contributing lives.

    The most rewarding aspect of working at New Story for Paul is seeing the impossible happen every day. "I am convinced that everyone can achieve a high-quality life regardless of the challenges faced. I believe that every day is a new day with the opportunity to improve and to create a new story. I write a new story for myself every time I help someone else write a new story."

    Dana Monroe, CEDO and SVP, smiles at the camera

    Dana Monroe, D.Ed., NCC, LCP, serves as the Chief Education Officer for New Story Schools. She joined the company in 1999 in Behavioral Health and has held a variety of management positions within the company. Dana has more than 25 years of clinical and educational experience, and has been instrumental in opening new schools and clinics within the New Story family of schools throughout her career. She received her BA in Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, her MA in Counseling and School Guidance from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and her D.Ed. in Education and Curriculum Instruction from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2009. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Dana is currently pursuing an Executive Leadership certificate from Carnegie Mellon.

    Jon Bicknell, CFO, smiles at the camera

    Jon joined New Story in 2021 as our Chief Financial officer. He is responsible for all finance related aspects of our operations, as well as driving our strategic growth plan forward. Jon has spent the last decade working with private equity owned portfolio companies as part of the executive management team. Most recently, Jon was the Chief Financial Officer of Versant Health Inc., a billion-dollar vision insurance company focused on managed eye health and vision care. In December 2020, Versant Health Inc. was sold to MetLife. Before working with private equity backed companies, Jon was an Assurance Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in New York City, where he worked with many clients, including some well-known brands such as MasterCard.

    Matthew Vitale, CAO, smiles for the camera

    Matthew Vitale joined the company in July 2021 as its Chief Accounting Officer for New Story Management. Matt has over 15 years of accounting and finance experience in both the public and private sectors. Recently, he was Corporate Controller at North American Partners in Anesthesia, one of the nation’s leading single-specialty anesthesia and pain management companies, overseeing all aspects of accounting including systems and acquisition integration. Prior to NAPA, Matt was at Northwell Health, New York state’s largest healthcare provider. Matt is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.

    Amie Carter, CIO

    Amie Carter joined New Story Schools as Chief Information Officer in 2021. Amie is responsible for overseeing the Information Technology Department and the Project Management Office (PMO) of New Story. Before joining our company, Amie worked for Optum Technology, a United Health Group (“UHG”) company, leading IT operations and strategy, responsible for large scale national technology implementations. Before Optum, Amie was at MedExpress, one of the largest National Urgent Care providers, where she led the IT department and PMO.  Prior to that, Amie was at UMPC serving as the CIO of their Behavioral Health Hospital, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. Amie holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Healthcare and IT Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Project Management Professional.

    Kevin Drennan, VP of Finance, smiles for the camera

    Kevin Drennan is the Vice President of Finance for New Story Schools. As Vice President of Finance, his duties include financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, merger and acquisitions, banking and investor relations, and facilitating the company’s efforts to achieve financial growth objectives.

    Kevin has more than 10 years of financial analysis experience, which he obtained through working for major companies including Northrop Grumman, Stanley Black & Decker and Bridgestone, among others. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Delaware in 2005 and obtained a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore in 2009.

    Pat is Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities and has been with New Story since 2020. Prior to New Story, Pat was with Koch Industries and Laureate Education. At Koch, he led their real estate portfolio management function as well as helped launch their first generation outsource for real estate and facility services. For Laureate, he led global real estate where he directed all aspects of real estate operations: site selection, transaction management, design, construction, facilities management, acquisition diligence, capital planning and budgeting. Pat leads New Story’s real estate, design, construction, and facility management functions.

    Shauna Kelley, VP of Marketing, Smiles for the camera

    Shauna Kelley joined New Story in 2020 as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. She leads a team of talented marketers to build awareness of New Story’s services in the communities we serve. Shauna has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and public relations, most of it focused on K-12 and higher education. She has also worked as an adjunct professor, teaching marketing and business courses at Howard Community College and George Washington University College of Professional Studies. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from Goucher College and her Master of Business Administration degree from Bellevue University.

    Angela O’Brien, VP of Education Integration

    Angela O'Brien, BCBA, COBA joined the New Story team in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President of Education Integration. Before rejoining New Story in 2017, Angela spent five years at a behavioral health organization, leading clinical operations teams to deliver mental health and autism services across Pennsylvania and Ohio. Angela most recently served New Story Schools as Regional Clinical Director, previously working as a clinical supervisor and behavior analyst. Angela obtained her BS in Psychology from Juniata College and her MA in Human Services from Hood College. She completed applied behavior analysis coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2011 and a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst in 2015. Angela is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and superintendent letter of eligibility at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Catherine Wayman, VP of Learning and Quality

    Catherine Wayman, MSW, LSW, BCBA, serves as the Vice President of Quality and Continuous Improvement for New Story Schools. Beginning her tenure with New Story in 2007, Cat worked in classrooms with students in several positions within the schools before transitioning to Learning and Quality in 2013.

    Cat completed dual bachelor’s degrees from Cairn University, her Master of Social Work through Temple University and was dual certified in 2014 as a Licensed Social Worker in Pennsylvania and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Applying more than 15 years’ experience in human services and special education Cat leads continuous improvement initiatives across New Story Schools for students and employees.

I have the incredible opportunity to look across each of our schools over the years and witness the outstanding progress made each day by our students. I am constantly challenged to find new and innovative ways for data to tell the story of how lives are changed.”

    Janice Marie Provetti, Director of Compliance

    Janice Marie Provetti joined the company in June 2021 and serves as the Director of Compliance. Janice brings more than 25 years of compliance and regulatory experience to the organization. Janice spent the majority of her career on Wall Street, working for prestigious global banks and brokerage firms. She most recently served as a Compliance Director and Chief Administrative Officer at BNY Mellon. Janice also has a background in Healthcare compliance and administration. Janice received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at Purdue University.
